The Investigations Officer is responsible for investigating planning law breaches through site inspections, evidence gathering, and stakeholder communication, while preparing reports for management and ensuring compliance with Council safety policies.

- Pay rate of $42.96 per hour + super
- Logan Area | On-site parking
- Contract until 30th November 2026 + extension + or direct appointment.
- Investigation of development offences pursuant to the Planning Act 2016
- Carry out site inspections and interview alleged offenders and witnesses of offences to gather evidence
- Communicate with community members to provide updates and advise of outcomes of investigations.
- Draft briefings on compliance investigations to management and Councillors
- Must adhere to all Council safety policies and directives
About you:
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
- Ability to negotiate and apply conflict resolution skills to influence outcomes at all levels.
- Proven ability to conduct inspections and investigations on a community level, and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant Legislation and Council policies.
- Experience in development compliance or Town Planning is desirable but not essential.
- Cert IV in Investigations, WHS or relevant experience
- Background in police or enforcement
- Available to start as soon as possible
