We are seeking a Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice across a broad range of investment and operational activities within a high-performing state government environment.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions that support critical infrastructure and long-term public outcomes.

About the Role
You will work closely with senior stakeholders and investment teams to deliver practical legal advice and support the structuring and execution of major projects.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Advising on legal and regulatory matters across investment and operational activities
  • Supporting the structuring and delivery of complex transactions from approval through to financial close
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial and project finance documentation
  • Managing due diligence processes and identifying legal and reputational risks
  • Engaging with external legal providers on specialised matters
  • Supporting compliance, governance and internal policy implementation
About You
You are a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with business teams on complex transactions and delivering pragmatic outcomes.

You will bring:
  • Experience in infrastructure, project finance or investment transactions
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across commercial agreements
  • Experience supporting due diligence and risk assessment processes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal issues
  • Sound judgement and a collaborative working style
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws and admission as an Australian solicitor
  • Experience in project finance, infrastructure or related sectors
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in contract negotiation, procurement and compliance
