Public Sector People is partnering with a progressive Local Council in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs to recruit an experienced Manager Community Learning & Service Centres for an initial 6-month contract.

This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing a large, diverse team during an important period of review, transformation, and service improvement.

About the Role
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, you will lead a combined Customer Service and Libraries function as the organisation undertakes a service review to separate the two areas.

The team is currently led in an acting capacity, and the organisation is seeking a capable, empathetic leader to guide staff through change while ensuring high-quality day-to-day service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support a large multi-disciplinary team through a period of transformation.
• Oversee BAU customer service operations, ensuring consistent, community-focused outcomes.
• Act as the primary conduit between the frontline team and the organisation, maintaining communication, alignment, and service standards.
• Drive and support digital transformation initiatives to enhance service accessibility and efficiency.
• Contribute to and support the service review as Customer Service and Libraries are uncoupled.
• Build trust, cohesion, and shared purpose across the team while navigating change.
