Public Sector People is working with a Regional Queensland Council to recruit a Manager - Culture, Arts & Regional Engagement for an initial temporary contract opportunity.

This is a senior leadership role focused on driving community engagement, cultural development, regional partnerships, and community-focused programs across a diverse regional council environment.

Local Government Experience preferred for this role. 

About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager Communities, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for culture, arts, community development, engagement, library services, and regional recovery initiatives. The role will play a key part in shaping community outcomes, driving strategic initiatives, and strengthening stakeholder relationships across the region.

Key Details:

• Location: Central Regional Queensland
• Rate: $110.05 per hour + super
• Hours: Full-time, 72.5 hours per fortnight
• Duration: Initial 3-month temporary contract with potential extension
• Benefits: Accommodation, travel, and vehicle provided

This role will require temporary relocation

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead community engagement, arts, cultural and regional development initiatives
• Oversee community programs, grants, events, and stakeholder engagement activities
• Drive strategic planning, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage community recovery and resilience programs in partnership with key stakeholders
• Lead and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team
• Provide strategic advice and reporting to executive leadership

About You:

• Proven leadership experience within local government, public sector, or community-focused environments
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience managing community programs, engagement strategies, or cultural initiatives
• Ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive operational outcomes
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant leadership experience
• Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence required
• A valid Queensland Working with Chlidren Blue Card
