Northern Beaches Council is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage its Transport Network team and provide strategic leadership across traffic engineering, transport networks, active transport and the Northern Beaches Local Transport Forum.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Transport and Civil Infrastructure, this is an opportunity to lead a specialist team delivering transport planning, technical advice, capital works coordination and stakeholder engagement across one of NSW's largest and most diverse local government areas.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Transport Network Planning, Design and Delivery team.
- Manage transport planning, traffic engineering and active transport functions.
- Coordinate operational and capital budgets.
- Oversee traffic advice for development applications and planning proposals.
- Manage Council's street lighting infrastructure and associated expenditure.
- Coordinate transport-related capital works programs.
- Lead the Northern Beaches Local Transport Forum.
- Build strong relationships with Transport for NSW, consultants, internal stakeholders and the community.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the Roads Act.
- Experience leading technical teams and delivering high-quality transport or traffic engineering outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and budget management skills.
