You will play a key role in managing day-to-day site activities, supporting project estimates and quotations, and providing leadership to trade teams to achieve strong performance, quality and safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects involving contractors and the departments field staff, including apprentices.
- Supervise and coordinate trade staff to ensure work is completed efficiently and to required quality standards.
- Provide leadership, guidance and performance management to trade teams.
- Monitor construction activities and ensure workplace health and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Assist with the preparation of project estimates, quotations and associated documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, internal teams and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, workmanship and quality outputs.
- Identify and address issues affecting project delivery, performance or safety.
- Maintain accurate project and administrative records using relevant computer systems.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong trade and construction background, combined with demonstrated experience supervising people and managing construction activities.
You will ideally bring:
- A recognized trade background with relevant construction experience.
- Demonstrated building and estimating experience.
- Previous experience supervising and managing trade staff and apprentices.
- Strong understanding of construction site WHS requirements and compliance.
- Proven ability to manage staff performance and quality outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, field staff and internal stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- A current driver licensee.
