Reporting to the General Counsel and supporting the in-house Solicitors, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services across Council.
- Providing legal support to in-house Solicitors.
- Conducting legal research and analysis, including legislation, policy and case law.
- Assisting with the preparation of legal advice, correspondence, reports and briefing materials.
- Managing legal files, records and document control processes.
- Supporting the development of legal procedures, protocols and training materials.
- Assisting with statutory and organisational reporting requirements.
About you:
- Completion of, or current enrolment in, a Certificate III in Legal Services or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience working within a legal practice, in-house legal team, or a large and complex organisation.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret legislation and case law.
- Experience preparing legal correspondence, reports, agreements and other legal documentation.
- Experience within the public sector, particularly local government.
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and relevant planning instruments.
