This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vital public service on a 12-month agency contract with an immediate start.

About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-regarded Local Council committed to serving its community. As a Payroll Officer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of all staff, contributing to the smooth operation of the organisation. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will be valued.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Processing and delivering accurate payroll services in accordance with industrial awards, agreements, legislation, and Council policies.
• Preparing fortnightly payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Maintaining and accounting for personnel entitlements, allowances, and deductions.
• Assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of the payroll system.
• Undertaking other duties as required by the Senior Payroll Officer.

• Previous workplace experience in a similar payroll function within a Public Sector, Not-for-Profit, Education, or Healthcare entity.
• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll functions within a medium to large organisation.
• Experience with PayGlobal is desirable.
