This is a temporary contract, with the opportunity for a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process Council's weekly payroll cycle.
- Maintain payroll records and employee data, including new starters, terminations, pay changes, and deductions.
- Process superannuation contributions and salary sacrifice arrangements.
- Calculate and process termination payments in accordance with relevant legislation and taxation requirements.
- Prepare payroll reconciliations, reports, and year-end payroll activities.
- Monitor payroll compliance with awards, taxation, superannuation, and legislative requirements.
- Provide payroll reporting and support to Finance and Human Resources teams.
- Assist with payroll-related enquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum 5 years' experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and payroll best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Previous Local Government payroll experience.
- Experience using TechnologyOne Payroll.
