This role is responsible for the accurate end-to-end processing of payroll across multiple entities while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and awards. The position requires strong attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage payroll processes efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles.
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, awards, and employment agreements.
- Manage payroll obligations including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and STP reporting.
- Prepare payroll journals and perform reconciliations including leave and superannuation.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related enquiries.
- Assist with payroll tax returns, WorkCover declarations, and audit requirements.
- Contribute to payroll system improvements and support finance or HR-related projects.
- Provide occasional support to the accounts team when required.
- Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll or accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
- Relevant qualification in Business, Accounting, or Finance (preferred).
