The opportunity
Public Sector People is partnering with an established, purpose-led organisation to recruit a Planning & Development Manager in Sydney.
With a focus on existing sites and brownfield redevelopment, this role will help identify what is possible across a varied property portfolio and shape a clear pathway forward.
It’s an opportunity for someone who enjoys working through complex sites, exploring design options and navigating planning constraints, while considering how properties can better serve the communities around them.
The role
Working with internal stakeholders and external consultants, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing existing sites to identify planning constraints and redevelopment potential.
- Developing site options that balance design quality, practical requirements and long-term use.
- Coordinating input from architects, planners and other specialist consultants.
- Guiding planning pathways and supporting development applications and approvals.
- Engaging with councils and relevant stakeholders to progress proposals.
- Preparing clear recommendations to support decisions on future property use.
You may come from town planning, architecture or a related property discipline, with experience assessing and progressing redevelopment opportunities.
We’re interested in hearing from people who bring:
- Experience working with existing sites, brownfield redevelopment or complex planning proposals.
- An understanding of the NSW planning system and approval processes.
- The ability to interpret planning controls and assess their implications for a site.
- Experience coordinating consultants and managing competing stakeholder priorities.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters and present practical recommendations.
- An interest in using property to support positive community outcomes.
