As the Principal Engineer (Civil), you will manage the delivery of key components of the road infrastructure program and provide specialist technical advice to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
  
Working within the Special Projects team, you will oversee projects through various lifecycle stages including planning, pre-construction, procurement, and construction delivery.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across multiple project phases.
  • Act as the Representative of the Principal for contract administration and project delivery.
  • Manage tendering processes, contract assessments, and contractor engagement activities.
  • Provide high-level engineering advice relating to planning, design suitability, construction methodologies, materials, and best practice solutions.
  • Monitor project performance including scope, schedule, expenditure, risk, and quality outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, legislation, environmental obligations, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and supervise engineering and technical resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including managing complex and high-risk issues professionally and proactively.
  • Mentor and support graduate engineers and technical staff while fostering a collaborative team culture.
  
About You
You are a highly capable civil engineering professional with strong project delivery and leadership experience within transport or infrastructure environments.
  
You will demonstrate
  • Proven experience managing the design and/or construction of complex road infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentoring technical staff.
  
Mandatory Requirements
  • A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
  • Current holder of Class C driver's license.
  • Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
  • Provision of own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.

This contract role is for a specialist within the road project space. You will be managing these projects through multiple project phases & mentoring staff within the team.
