Are you a senior infrastructure specialist with deep Azure expertise and a passion for automation? We’re seeking an experienced Principal Server Administrator to join a high-performing server team supporting a large and complex enterprise ICT environment.
This is a Brisbane-based role with flexible work-from-home options.
The Role Reporting to the Team Leader – Servers, you’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting enterprise server and cloud infrastructure across predominantly Microsoft environments, with some Linux systems.
You’ll work within a teamof technical specialists to deliver secure, reliable and automated infrastructure services across Azure and hybrid platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and support Azure-based and hybrid infrastructure
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Bicep and JSON
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Manage virtual environments across Azure and VMware
- Oversee automated patching (WSUS / Azure Update Manager)
- Administer Windows Server environments end-to-end (build, patch, upgrade, lifecycle)
- Manage backup and recovery solutions (Azure Recovery Services Vaults, Veeam)
- Monitor systems using Azure Monitor and respond to incidents
- Administer Active Directory and identity-integrated services
- Lead complex troubleshooting and drive automation-focused improvements
- Contribute to minor infrastructure upgrade and improvement projects
- Azure Cloud Platforms – Design, deployment and support of Azure and hybrid infrastructure
- DevOps & Automation – CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps) and automation of infrastructure and operations
- Scripting & IaC – Strong PowerShell skills and practical use of Bicep and/or JSON
- Windows Server Administration – Extensive enterprise-level experience across full server lifecycle
