Public Sector People are working with a Sydney Council
who are seeking a Procurement and Contracts Manager
to join them on a short-term contract.
This is an initial 3 month
engagement and could also suit someone at Coordinator level.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing and reviewing procurement and contract management policies and strategies.
- Leading Council’s tendering, contract administration, and supplier engagement activities.
- Managing performance indicators and identifying cost-saving initiatives.
- Coaching and supporting staff across departments in procurement best practice.
- Overseeing Council’s stores and inventory control processes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement, business, contract management or a related field.
- Extensive experience in procurement, tendering, and contract management.
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and category management plans.
- Strong understanding of probity, compliance and reporting requirements.
- Local government experience is highly desirable.
