Our client is an established international modular housing business preparing to launch its Australian operation. As part of this significant investment, they are seeking an experienced Production Facility Manager to establish, lead and optimise their Australian manufacturing facility.
This is a unique opportunity to build a production operation from the ground up, implementing world class manufacturing processes while developing a high performing team capable of delivering premium quality concrete precast modular homes at scale.
The successful candidate will take ownership of all manufacturing operations, ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while supporting the business's ambitious growth plans across Australia.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
- Establish and lead the day to day operation of the Australian production facility.
- Develop production strategies that maximise efficiency, quality and output.
- Implement manufacturing systems, processes and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure production schedules align with project delivery requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing activities.
- Oversee the manufacture of concrete precast modular housing components.
- Manage production planning, resource allocation and workflow optimisation.
- Ensure productivity targets are achieved without compromising quality.
- Introduce lean manufacturing principles and best practice production techniques.
- Work closely with engineering, design and project delivery teams to improve manufacturing outcomes.
- Recruit, develop and lead the production workforce.
- Build a positive, high performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Mentor supervisors and emerging leaders within the facility.
- Manage workforce planning and succession planning as the business grows.
- Champion a strong safety first culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all Australian health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Develop and maintain quality management systems that consistently deliver premium products.
- Monitor production quality and implement corrective actions where required.
- Manage operational budgets and manufacturing performance.
- Monitor KPIs relating to productivity, quality, cost and safety.
- Contribute to strategic planning alongside the Australian leadership team.
- Support future expansion of manufacturing capability as production volumes increase.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong background in precast concrete, modular construction or advanced manufacturing.
You will demonstrate:
- Significant experience managing large scale manufacturing or production facilities.
- Strong knowledge of concrete precast manufacturing processes.
- Outstanding leadership and people development capability.
- Experience establishing or significantly improving manufacturing operations.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem solving skills.
