A rare opportunity exists for a talented Project Architect to join a growing design-and-construct business delivering bespoke residential projects throughout Melbourne's inner suburbs.
This is an ideal role for a design-led architect who enjoys taking ownership of projects from the first client conversation through to completed construction documentation and delivery. You'll work on high-quality renovations, extensions and bespoke homes, typically ranging from $1M-$3M+, within a highly collaborative environment where design and construction work seamlessly together.
Unlike many traditional practice environments, you'll have direct access to builders, estimators and construction professionals throughout the design process, allowing you to create beautiful, buildable and commercially realistic outcomes.
The Role
You will lead projects from concept through to construction, becoming the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing residential projects from briefing through to completion
- Leading client meetings and developing project briefs
- Concept design, space planning and design development
- Preparing planning applications and coordinating authority approvals
- Producing detailed Revit documentation packages
- Coordinating consultants including structural engineers, landscape architects and energy assessors
- Preparing and presenting 3D visualisations and client presentations
- Interior design selections, finishes, joinery and detailing
- Working closely with the construction team to ensure projects remain aligned with budget and buildability requirements
- Supporting projects during construction through design resolution and site coordination
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in residential architecture
- Strong experience delivering bespoke residential projects, renovations and extensions
- Excellent design sensibility with a contemporary residential portfolio
- Strong understanding of planning, ResCode and residential construction
- Proficient in Revit and SketchUp
- Experience producing high-quality documentation and detailing packages
- Confident presenting to clients and managing stakeholder relationships
- Highly organised, proactive and capable of working autonomously
