This contract opportunity offers the chance to work on a high-profile project alongside an experienced project team, supporting the successful delivery of a complex Defence project.
Due to the nature of this project and Defence security requirements, applicants must be Australian Citizens and be willing to successfully complete the necessary background checks to obtain site access.
The Role Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will provide end-to-end project engineering support across procurement, contract administration, document control, stakeholder management and project delivery. You'll join a well-established team and receive strong onboarding and support throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project activities and subcontractors throughout the construction phase
- Assist with procurement and contract administration activities
- Manage project documentation, document control and quality assurance processes
- Prepare and coordinate RFIs, NCRs, ITPs and project reporting
- Monitor project progress, programme and cost performance
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Defence, client and statutory requirements
- Support the Project Manager in the successful delivery of the project
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the project
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer working for a head contractor within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration and project delivery processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience delivering Defence, government, infrastructure or other highly regulated projects will be highly regarded
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Australian Citizenship is essential
- Ability to successfully complete the required Defence security and background checks for site access
- 6–8 month contract, with the project expected to run through to early 2027
