D&B Recruitment is partnering with an Australian owned civil construction company with more than four decades of project experience, having grown from a small, single operation outfit to now delivering innovative solutions across infrastructure projects throughout the country. Their work is grounded in strong engineering fundamentals, which are designed for longevity, cost effectiveness, and environmental sustainability and backed by systems and technology that keep quality, safety, and environmental management front and center.
The business operates nationally, with a network of depots spanning multiple states across Australia, and a workforce of several hundred people. Their WA operation is a well-established part of that footprint, delivering pavement and civil works for state and local government, and private industry.
They're now seeking an experienced Project Engineer to bring technical rigour and commercial discipline to the planning, coordination, and delivery of pavement construction, rehabilitation, and stabilisation projects across WA.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and in line with technical specification, programme, budget, and quality requirements combining technical input, project controls, field coordination, and commercial support.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving project outcomes in line with safety, quality, and commercial expectations.
- Supporting the delivery of pavement construction, rehabilitation, stabilisation, and related civil works across WA.
- Reviewing scopes, drawings, specifications, and site information to flag technical risks, constructability issues, and commercial opportunities
- Coordinating labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep delivery safe, efficient, and compliant
- Maintaining quality and compliance records (ITPs, lot records, test results, non conformances, and handover documentation)
- Identifying and managing risk and opportunity to secure the best outcome for both business and client.
- Supporting cost tracking, procurement, progress claims, variations, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
- Acting as a key point of contact between clients, project teams, supervisors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and delivery issues.
- Preparing accurate site records and project documentation to support delivery, close out, and continuous improvement.
- Providing technical input to the tender team as required.
- $160,000 - $170,000 base (dependent on experience) + 30% uplift + Superannuation.
- Fully maintained vehicle, plus laptop provided.

- Civil Engineering degree.
- 5+ years experience in a similar project engineering role.
- Experience with WA Main Roads and pavement projects.
- Solid understanding of project cost management and forecasting.
- Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus, though not essential.
