In this role you will be tasked in the planning, procurement, and delivery of road infrastructure projects — acting as the Superintendent’s Representative and providing expert technical and contract advice to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Site Supervision
- Act as Superintendent’s Representative for small to medium construction projects.
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, resolve technical issues, and ensure WHS compliance.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Procurement
- Prepare procurement documentation and contract packages.
- Analyze quotation submissions and award contracts in line with procurement strategies.
Contract Administration
- Administer civil construction contracts in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Build strong working relationships with contractors and ensure fair resolution of issues.
- Maintain detailed records, instructions, inspections, and audits.
Performance Reporting
- Prepare regular progress reports on safety, budget, quality, environment, and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct project meetings and implement corrective actions as needed.
Supervision & Coordination
- Provide technical support and mentoring to Undergraduate Engineers.
- Review internal procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond to community and stakeholder enquiries professionally and effectively.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or currently completing).
- Demonstrated experience in road and drainage construction projects.
- TMR/ local council project experience
- Proven ability to manage the procurement and delivery of civil construction contracts.
- Experience acting as a Superintendent’s Site Representative or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements for construction.
- Skilled in quality assurance, reporting, and contract documentation.
- Ability to communicate confidently and make decisions under pressure.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant project management tools.
- Previous experience in road construction is essential.
