You will also manage the delivery of key components of the road infrastructure program and provide specialist technical expertise and advice to infrastructure projects and to other professional and technical staff to ensure successful delivery of the projects within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide reports on the progress of works and actual and forecast expenditure.
- Act as "Representative of the Principal" for the delivery of contracts as defined and delegated at respective project phases.
- Display financial and commercial acumen in maintaining project budgets and provide financial oversight on projects.
- Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are identified and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
- Manage the calling and assessment of tenders and the contract awarding process for preconstruction and construction projects in the Region's Roads Implementation Program.
- Provide high level engineering advice and input into planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
- Supervise and coordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organizational objectives.
- Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high-risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
Mandatory Requirements
- Four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) accredited under the Washington Accord or equivalent recognized by Engineers Australia.
- Registered as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience delivering transport infrastructure projects
- Class C driver’s license
- OH&S Construction Induction (white card or equivalent) will be required by the successful applicant prior to commencement of work.
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role
