The Opportunity
You will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of commercial construction projects, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of commercial construction projects
- Manage project scope, budgets, programs and key milestones
- Lead and develop project teams, subcontractors and consultants
- Manage procurement, subcontractor engagement and project resources
- Monitor project financial performance and commercial outcomes
- Manage variations, claims, contracts and commercial negotiations
- Identify and proactively manage project risks and issues
- Maintain project programs and ensure key deliverables are achieved
- Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, safety and compliance standards
- Develop strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Provide regular project reporting to senior management
- Drive a collaborative, accountable and high-performance project culture
We are looking for a Project Manager with a proven track record delivering commercial construction projects, ideally within the Canberra/ACT market.
You will have:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the commercial construction industry
- Experience managing projects from commencement through to practical completion
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and commercial management
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, programs and resources
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- A proactive approach to project risk and problem solving
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of Australian construction practices, legislation and WHS requirements
