Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Project Officer.
Contract: 6 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $50 - $60 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors, clients, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
- Manage incoming calls and emails, directing enquiries to the appropriate departments
- Provide general administrative support including data entry, filing, and document preparation
- Assist with coordinating and supporting internal and external events
- Help manage social media accounts, including content scheduling and basic engagement
- Liaise with various departments to ensure smooth communication and workflow
- Maintain office supplies and support day-to-day operations
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Support team members with ad hoc tasks and projects as required
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in council or government roles
- Strong background in administration and customer service
- Desirable: experience or interest in media, communications, or social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident working across teams and departments
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- TechOne, Trim experience - essential.
