Public Sector People are proud to partner with the City of Sydney to recruit an experienced Property Asset Manager within the Property Services team. The role is central to managing the operational, financial and strategic performance of Council’s diverse property portfolio, ensuring each asset achieves its full potential while maintaining compliance, value and tenant satisfaction.
You’ll take a hands-on approach to building operations, tenant management and asset optimisation, ensuring every property contributes to the City’s strategic objectives under Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050: Continuing the Vision.
About the Role
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will:
- Manage and optimise a diverse portfolio of properties, taking direct accountability for each asset’s day-to-day operations, leasing activities, maintenance and overall financial performance
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure operational efficiency, compliance with standards, achievement of performance targets, and consistent high tenant satisfaction
- Lead relationships with tenants, service providers and contractors to maintain strong partnerships and service standards
- Provide reports, insights and recommendations that support strategic investment, risk management, and asset improvement
- Maintain accurate property data and implement continuous improvements to enhance portfolio performance
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications in Property, Facility Management or a related field, with proven experience managing complex property portfolios.
- Strong financial, operational and analytical skills with a track record of improving asset performance and delivering practical, solutions-focused outcomes.
- Adaptable and forward-thinking, with the ability to navigate change effectively and contribute to continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, building trusted relationships with tenants, suppliers and colleagues.
- Sound understanding of legislation, contracts and risk management, supported by proficiency in property systems and reporting tools.
