Senior or Quantity Surveyor – Building Services (Electrical Focus)
An opportunity has become available for a Senior or  Quantity Surveyor  to join a well-established consultancy with a strong pipeline of projects across most sectors, specialising in commercial, residential, and data centre developments.

This role sits within the Building Services team, working closely with project leads to deliver high-quality cost management and estimating services. The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical engineering experience and ideally a working knowledge across other building services disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare early-stage budgets, cost plans, and detailed estimates.
  • Undertake detailed take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
  • Manage cost control, value management, and risk analysis processes.
  • Develop and maintain project benchmarking data.
  • Support construction phase activities, including progress claims and variation assessments.
  • Contribute to client presentations and industry events.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and market trends.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying or estimating, with an electrical focus.
  • Broader exposure across other services (mechanical, hydraulic, fire) highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a high level of accountability.
  • Strong technical expertise in budgeting, estimating, tender analysis, and contract administration.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Familiarity with local construction markets, pricing, and procurement methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems (e.g. Aconex).
  • Knowledge of sustainability and quality rating tools (e.g. Green Star, NABERS, WELL) is advantageous.
