Position: Rates Officer
Contract: Shor-term contract | ASAP Start | Strong potential for extension
Location: Metro Sydney, NSW
Hourly Pay Rate: $45-$50ph + super
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accounts receivable to ensure all accounts are raised and recovered in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
- Processing and reconciling EFT rate payments
- Reviewing and actioning rate category changes and exemption requests
- Process daily banking and reconciliation of subsystems to the general ledger to ensure accuracy of generated transactions.
- Actively pursue outstanding debts and initiate debt recovery in accordance with Council’s policies liaising with Councils mercantile agent.
- You must have previous local government experience in a similar position.
- Experience using Technology One and Pathways
- Strong understanding of debt recovery processes and related administration
- Comfortable working in sensitive environments with a customer-first approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
