Due to the operational nature of the role and the need to work closely with Council staff, contractors and local facilities, Council would require the person to be based on site for approximately 80% of the engagement.
Some flexibility may be available for remote work during the balance of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Managing road construction, rehabilitation, resealing, gravel resheeting and maintenance activities across multiple work fronts
- Leading, supporting and developing supervisors, operators and field crews
- Allocating labour, plant, contractors and materials across competing priorities
- Preparing and monitoring practical works schedules
- Monitoring safety, productivity, quality, expenditure and project progress
- Ensuring works are appropriately planned and resourced before crews and equipment arrive on site
- Championing continuous improvement to solve operational issues early and implementing practical solutions
