The Role
Working closely with the Project Manager and site leadership team, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day HSE function across the project.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Driving a strong and proactive safety culture across site.
- Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Managers, supervisors, subcontractors and Safety Manager.
- Conducting regular site inspections, audits, observations and risk assessments.
- Reviewing SWMS, permits and high-risk construction activities.
- Identifying hazards and implementing practical control measures.
- Managing incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
- Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitoring subcontractor compliance and safety performance.
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE systems.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and project requirements.
- 3–5 years’ experience in an HSE/Safety role within Australian construction.
- Previous commercial construction experience.
- Industrial, logistics, warehouse or large-scale commercial project experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and contractor management.
- The confidence to engage with everyone from subcontractors through to senior management.
- A practical, approachable and solutions-focused attitude.
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of site safety.
- Relevant WHS qualifications.
- Up to $200,000 package, depending on experience.
