We are seeking an experienced Safety And Wellbeing Partner
to join a local council in the Safety and Wellbeing team on a short-term 7 week contract. In this role, you will partner with the City Services directorate to provide expert advice, support and initiatives that strengthen our safety culture and reduce the risk of injury.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships with managers and staff to identify WHS priorities and improvements.
- Working with the Safety and Wellbeing team to design and deliver initiatives that enhance safety performance and culture.
- Assisting with the review and implementation of the WHS management system, including inspections, audits and reporting.
- Delivering training and advice to managers, HSRs and staff, including inductions for new workers.
- Promoting the effective use of the WHS management system to report and manage hazards, incidents and injuries.
- Preparing WHS performance data and reports to support continuous improvement.
- Providing secretarial support to Depot WHS Committees and ensuring effective follow-up of actions.
- Overseeing compliance with hazard management plans and monitoring improvement actions.
- Conducting audits, inspections and providing recommendations to strengthen safety outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications or Cert IV in WHS/OHS (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS advisory or partnering role.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and contemporary practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and drive outcomes.
- Proven experience with WHS management systems and data reporting.
- Local council experienced preferred.
