The role will start in ASAP/July 2026 and will continue until approx October 2027.
This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing Council's access to information activities, acting as the key advisor on matters relating to the:
- Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA)
- Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act (PPIPA)
- Copyright Act
This role plays a critical part in supporting open government, transparency, privacy protection, and community trust.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience in processing and determining both Informal and Formal GIPA applications
- Demonstrated experience in privacy complaint handling and advisory functions
- A solid background in legislative compliance, governance, or access to information frameworks
- Experience supervising or guiding staff, including handling complex or sensitive enquiries and internal reviews
