We’re working with a highly respected national architecture and design studio known for delivering public and civic projects that make a lasting social impact. Their Melbourne office is seeking a capable and experienced Project Architect to join their growing team and lead the design and delivery of complex, community-focused projects including residential and retail projects. 

This role will suit someone with strong documentation and project delivery skills, a deep appreciation for user-centred design, and a passion for architecture that enhances the public realm.

The Projects

This multidisciplinary practice works across a broad range of sectors, with a particular focus on public and institutional architecture, including:

  • Education: From early learning centres to state-of-the-art university campuses
  • Health & Aged Care: Community health clinics, specialist centres, and wellness-focused environments
  • Civic & Cultural: Libraries, galleries, community hubs and infrastructure that shape the urban landscape
  • Justice & Defence: Secure, functional facilities with an emphasis on rehabilitation and design integrity
  • Workplace & Commercial: Government and private sector projects driven by sustainability and performance
  • Retail & Transport: Transit-oriented development, hubs and mixed-use precincts
Many projects are large-scale, complex and delivered in BIM, with a high degree of stakeholder engagement and regulatory oversight.

About You

You’re a registered (or soon-to-be registered) Architect who thrives in leading technical project stages and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
You take pride in well-resolved, functional architecture and have the confidence to navigate client and consultant relationships.

You bring:
  • 7–12+ years’ experience in architectural practice
  • Strong capability across design development, documentation and contract administration
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale or institutional projects (public sector experience highly regarded)
  • Proficiency in Revit (essential)
  • Confidence in liaising with consultants, authorities and client-side project managers
  • A practical understanding of NCC, accessibility, and local planning frameworks
  • A collaborative approach and interest in mentoring junior team members
  • Registration as an Architect (or close to achieving it)
