Position: Senior Cost Engineer
Project: Energy 
Roster: 5:2 (Fly Monday, Home Friday).
Salary:$170-190k + super + bonus (housing provided by client)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Enginee r with strong Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost analytics capability to support the delivery of a large-scale renewable energy project.

This role will focus on cost performance analysis, forecasting, and productivity reporting, working closely with project controls, commercial teams, and delivery contractors to ensure accurate cost tracking and data-driven decision making.

This position suits a highly analytical Project Controls professional who enjoys working with complex project data to influence time, cost, and delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Cost Engineer:
  • Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis including CPI/SPI tracking, variance analysis, and productivity monitoring.
  • Analyse cost and progress data to identify performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development of accurate project cost forecasts aligned with project schedules.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors to ensure correct cost allocation and reliable forecasting assumptions.
  • Produce cost engineering reports, dashboards, and performance insights for project leadership.
  • Undertake detailed analysis of work packages to identify time and cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Support project controls governance, reporting processes, and integrated cost/schedule analysis.
Skills & Experience required from the Senior Cost Engineer
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or similar.
  • 8+ years’ experience in Project Controls or Cost Engineering on major infrastructure, mining, or construction projects.
  • Strong expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), cost forecasting, and productivity analysis.
  • Experience working with cost management systems and project controls frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent communication skills.
