Senior Draftsperson - Flexible working hours

A well established and reputable residential builder is seeking an experienced Senior Draftsperson/Checker to join their close knit team.

Specialising in single storey residential homes, this business has a strong pipeline of work and a culture built on trust, support, and long term staff retention.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring design accuracy, compliance, and buildability across all projects. Working closely with the Design & Drafting Manager and a fellow checker, you’ll use your expertise to review and produce high quality documentation while also contributing to new product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and check drawings for compliance with R-Codes, NCC, developer guidelines, and internal standards
• Provide drafting support, producing accurate working drawings and documentation for single storey residential homes
• Collaborate with Sales and Design Consultants to develop and refine concepts and sales sketches
• Contribute to the development of new standard product and display homes
• Liaise with internal teams and external consultants to ensure plans are accurate, compliant, and buildable

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Draftsperson in single storey residential construction
• Advanced ArchiCAD skills (experience with 4D Library highly regarded)
• Thorough understanding of Local Government Planning Policies, Developer Guidelines, Building Codes of Australia and R-Codes
• Ability to interpret DAPs, LDPs, Structure Plans and Covenants
• Excellent attention to detail, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
