This is a specialist engineering role in Secondary Systems within a leading EPC environment, embedded in a high-performing in-house design team.
The focus here is true technical ownership of secondary design – developing protection, control and automation systems, ensuring robust and compliant protection schemes, and seeing your engineering directly enable the safe and reliable operation of major HV transmission infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing
- Lead secondary systems design for HV substations, including protection, control and automation systems
- Produce detailed engineering deliverables including protection settings input, schematics, wiring diagrams and design packages
- Collaborate across primary, civil, and power systems disciplines to ensure fully integrated substation design
- Work closely with internal project delivery and construction teams to support execution and commissioning readiness
- 5+ years of experience in secondary systems design
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Engineers Australia membership (or eligible)
- Strong technical specialist mindset with a passion for HV protection, control systems and substation design
