Are you an experienced Estimator looking to play a key role in some of Australia's most significant data centre projects?
Our client is a leading Tier 1 contractor with a strong pipeline of major mission critical developments across Australia. Due to continued growth within the data centre sector, they are seeking a commercially astute Senior Estimator to join their high-performing pre-construction team in Melbourne.
This is an opportunity to work on landmark projects valued from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars, helping secure and shape the next generation of critical infrastructure.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders for complex data centre projects. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, subcontractors, and clients, you will be instrumental in securing new work and supporting the successful delivery of major projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end estimating activities across large-scale data centre tenders.
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify project requirements and risks.
- Develop detailed first-principles estimates and cost plans.
- Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules, clarifications and value engineering proposals.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing packages.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and analyse market pricing trends.
- Participate in tender interviews and client presentations.
- Work collaboratively with design, commercial and delivery teams during bid development.
- Support handover processes to project delivery teams upon award.
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Lead Estimator within a Tier 1 or large Tier 2 contractor environment.
- Demonstrated success pricing major building, M&E or mission critical projects.
- Previous exposure to data centres, hyperscale developments, critical infrastructure, healthcare, defence or other technically complex projects will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement strategies and risk identification.
- Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency using estimating software and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related discipline.
