Requirements of Role
- Producing high quality estimates and quotation documentation for building projects, ensuring compliance with the State Purchasing Policy, Minor Works, local instructions and tendering and contract methods, and client requirements.
- Undertaking research and development in project planning, budgeting, estimating, programming, delivery processes and procurement practices.
- Reporting on relevant estimating projects and/or programs providing information on volume, requests, clients, locations, acceptance rates, costs, schedule of rates, margins, and productivity.
- Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with current human resource practices and principles, including employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
- Enhancing client relationships through effective communication, sound negotiation and the provision of timely, professional, competitive estimates.
Successful candidate
- Proven ability to apply best estimating practices, interpret, plan, and prepare accurate building estimates.
- Working knowledge of contemporary estimating methods used in the building, construction, and maintenance industry, including associated legislative and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and computer packages.
