The Opportunity
With a strong pipeline of major residential and mixed-use projects, we are seeking a skilled Senior Estimator
to join their team. This role is critical to ensuring accuracy in budgets, estimates, and cost planning across projects valued well into the hundreds of millions.
You’ll partner closely with the Estimating Manager, Cost Planning team, and senior stakeholders, providing commercially astute estimates and contributing to successful project outcomes from feasibility through delivery.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate cost plans, estimates, and budgets for medium- to high-density residential projects
- Reviewing drawings and specifications to establish full scopes of work
- Completing detailed take-offs and trade package breakdowns
- Coordinating subcontractor and supplier pricing, ensuring consistency with project requirements
- Managing design changes, variations, and value engineering exercises
- Tracking project budgets and preparing cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
- Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve cost or scope issues
- Supporting compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality systems
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10–15 years’ experience in estimating, ideally in the medium- to high-density residential sector
- Expertise in construction estimating or quantity surveying
- Proficiency with estimating software (Cubit, CostX, or equivalent)
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build supplier and subcontractor relationships
- Commercially astute, proactive, and capable of driving cost certainty across large projects
- Competitive salary up to $200,000 + Super
