Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end estimating and tendering process across commercial construction projects.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and project scopes in detail.
- Prepare accurate cost plans, take-offs, BOQs, subcontractor comparisons, and tender submissions.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
- Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and alternative construction methodologies.
- Work closely with Directors, Project Managers, and Operations teams during pre-construction phases.
- Attend tender meetings, site inspections, and client briefings where required.
- Prepare detailed tender clarifications, scope reviews, and post-tender negotiations.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems, processes, and cost databases.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, procurement strategies, and pipeline planning.
- Support the business in securing repeat work and long-term client relationships.
- Proven experience as an Estimator within commercial construction, with exposure to fit-out, refurbishment, education, healthcare, and commercial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, buildability, cost planning, and interpreting technical drawings/specifications.
- Well-connected within the Sydney subcontractor and supplier market, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised with strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Confident using estimating software, Excel, and construction management systems, with relevant construction qualifications preferred.
- Salary: $185k-$195k + Super (DOE)
