We are currently working with two highly regarded Melbourne interior design studios that are looking to appoint experienced Senior Interior Designers to their workplace teams.
While both opportunities sit within the workplace sector, they offer very different environments and project types. Both roles require strong design capability, project leadership and advanced Revit documentation skills.
ROLE 1 – Senior Interior Designer | Workplace D&C / Spec Suites Fast-paced workplace design | Design & Documentation | D&C Environment
This is an exciting opportunity to join a design-led business delivering high-volume workplace projects, spec suites and commercial office fit-outs.
The role will suit a Senior Interior Designer who enjoys working at pace, taking ownership of projects and moving seamlessly between concept design, design development and detailed Revit documentation.
The Role
You will be responsible for running multiple workplace projects from design through to delivery, working closely with clients, consultants, builders and internal teams.
You will be involved in:
- Leading workplace projects from concept through to documentation and delivery
- Developing workplace concepts, layouts, test fits and design solutions
- Producing detailed Revit documentation and construction packages
- Working within a D&C-style environment, responding quickly to project requirements and construction constraints
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Coordinating consultants and external stakeholders
- Working directly with clients to understand requirements and develop design solutions
- Reviewing and resolving documentation, design and construction issues
- Attending site meetings and supporting projects through delivery
- Selecting finishes, materials, furniture and fixtures
- Working closely with project managers, builders and contractors
- Maintaining a high standard of design quality while working within tight programmes
- An experienced Senior Interior Designer with strong workplace experience
- Highly proficient in Revit with the ability to independently produce detailed documentation
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced D&C or delivery-focused environment
- Experienced running projects rather than purely contributing to design
- Confident managing clients, consultants and contractors
- Commercially aware and comfortable making practical design decisions
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Someone who enjoys being hands-on with both design and documentation
ROLE 2 – Senior Interior Designer | Premium Workplace & Wellness Design-led studio | Workplace & Wellness | Team Leadership | High-End Projects
The second opportunity is with a high-end, design-focused interior studio delivering premium workplace, wellness and commercial interiors.
This is a more design-led environment, suited to a Senior Interior Designer who wants to take ownership of projects, lead teams and contribute to the creative direction of significant workplace projects.
The Role
You will take responsibility for projects across the full design lifecycle, from early concept through to detailed documentation and delivery.
You will be involved in:
- Leading workplace and wellness projects from concept through to completion
- Developing strong design concepts and design narratives
- Leading and mentoring junior and mid-level designers
- Managing project teams and coordinating workloads
- Preparing presentations and presenting design concepts to clients
- Developing detailed design and documentation packages
- Producing and reviewing Revit documentation
- Coordinating consultants and project stakeholders
- Managing project programmes, deliverables and deadlines
- Working closely with clients to understand their vision and requirements
- Material, finishes, furniture and FF&E selection
- Supporting project delivery and construction coordination
- Maintaining design quality and consistency throughout the project
- Contributing to the studio's broader design culture and creative direction
- Strong experience within workplace interior design
- Proven experience running projects independently
- Strong conceptual and design development skills
- Advanced Revit documentation capability
- Experience leading or mentoring designers
- Excellent client-facing and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of workplace design principles
- Experience coordinating consultants and contractors
- A high level of attention to detail
- A genuine passion for high-quality interior design
