About the Role
Are you a property professional with a strong understanding of NSW property law and acquisitions? This is your chance to join a NSW Council delivering major transport and infrastructure projects that make a real difference to the community.
As a Senior Officer Property Acquisitions, you’ll play a lead role in end-to-end land and property acquisition processes, ensuring timely project delivery while managing negotiations, conveyancing, and strategic property advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead acquisition strategies and manage property transactions for transport and infrastructure projects
- Conduct valuations, negotiations, and documentation for property acquisitions, easements, and covenants
- Provide specialist property advice and conduct due diligence to inform project decisions
- Interpret complex property documentation including valuations, town planning advice, and legal materials
- Engage effectively with stakeholders, including landholders, to ensure smooth acquisition processes
- Support budget development and monitor expenditure for property aspects of projects
- Degree in Law, Property, Conveyancing, or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in property/land acquisitions, preferably within public sector or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of NSW property law and acquisition procedures
- Practical conveyancing experience (contracts, easements, covenants)
- Postgraduate qualifications in property, business, planning, or valuation disciplines
- Specialist training or professional education in regulatory aspects of property law and contract administration
