What You’ll Do
- Accurately interpret and apply the Local Government (State) Award, Council Agreements, contracts, and employment-related policies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including taxation, superannuation and workers compensation.
- Maintain strong internal controls, system accuracy, and effective record keeping.
- Support and optimise payroll system use and development (including HRIS).
- Produce accurate payroll and HR reports as required.
- Train and support other payroll staff in administration tasks.
Essential:
- Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll processing, award interpretation and superannuation/workers compensation payments.
- Experience with iChris Payroll system.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and high computer literacy (including spreadsheets).
- Knowledge of the Local Government (State) Award and/or experience in a local government environment is highly desirable.
