Position: Senior Primary Design Engineer
Salary: up to $190k + bonus

Design & Build have partnered with a leading EPC business delivering some of Australia’s most exciting energy transition projects - we’re talking multi-million dollar developments across solar, BESS, transmission, and substations.
Their engineering division is made up of talented design engineers across transmission, substations, and renewable energy. Right now, we’re looking to bring on a Design Engineer specialising in primary substation design to help deliver key projects driving the transition to a cleaner energy future.
Could this be you?
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver primary substation design up to 500kV, including layout, equipment arrangement, and electrical clearances
- Perform design calculations
- Develop complete design packages including BOMs and technical specs for HV equipment
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure clash-free, optimised designs
- Review system studies
- Proven experience as a Primary Engineer on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
- CPEng or working towards it
- Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia)
