This opportunity is suited to a civil infrastructure professional with strong local government experience delivering externally funded capital works projects from planning through to completion. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing civil projects, contract administration, construction supervision, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
This role requires someone who can hit the ground running and is available to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver externally funded civil infrastructure projects from inception through to completion
- Manage project planning, procurement, tendering and contract administration
- Supervise construction works and contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and safety requirements
- Monitor project budgets, timelines and reporting requirements
- Prepare technical specifications, tender documentation and evaluation reports
- Coordinate contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
- Provide technical engineering advice and resolve construction-related issues
- Manage community and stakeholder engagement throughout project delivery
- Ensure compliance with Local Government procurement processes and legislative requirements
- Maintain project documentation, quality assurance and reporting standards
About You:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Extensive experience delivering civil infrastructure projects within local government
- Proven background managing funded capital works programs (state or externally funded highly regarded)
- Strong contract management and superintendent experience
- Demonstrated experience in contractor management and construction supervision
- Sound understanding of procurement, tendering and Local Government legislative frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Victorian Driver’s Licence
