We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to oversee electrical construction works across large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. This role provides senior site leadership across HV, MV, and LV installations, from day-to-day delivery through to handover for commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily electrical installation activities, including PCS/transformers, switchgear, cable installation and terminations, earthing systems, and auxiliary power equipment.
- Review and interpret electrical schematics, SLDs, functional diagrams, and layout drawings; provide technical direction to contractors and vendors.
- Develop, review, and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Oversee technical verification of incoming materials and equipment to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, including progress, manpower, deliverables, quality, and contractual compliance.
- Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, and SCADA teams, and manage interfaces with supplier field service personnel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years’ site experience in heavy construction, rail, infrastructure power generation, or large-scale renewable energy (BESS, solar, wind).
- Extensive local experience in the Victorian market
- Strong understanding of HV/MV/LV distribution systems, protection, control equipment, and SCADA.
- Proven capability in reading and implementing electrical drawings, design documents, and technical specifications in a construction environment.
- Confident leader with the ability to guide contractors, ensure quality outcomes, and maintain strong working relationships on site.
