Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of concurrent projects across design and construction phases
- Lead projects through procurement, planning, design coordination and delivery
- Manage project programs, budgets, risks and reporting requirements
- Ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget and agreed timeframes
- Coordinate and engage with consultants, contractors and key stakeholders
- Support early contractor involvement and collaborative project delivery approaches
- Translate design objectives into practical and deliverable construction outcomes
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external project teams
- Contribute positively to team culture and support strategic departmental outcomes
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will be a proactive and adaptable project professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a practical understanding of construction project delivery. You will be comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and confident working across both design and construction environments.
This role will suit someone who is collaborative, coachable and looking to genuinely invest in the team and department long term. Candidates who can demonstrate stability and strong tenure within previous organizations will be highly regarded.
Mandatory Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the construction industry/ project space
- Current Queensland Driver License – Class C Open
- Demonstrated experience managing projects across design and/or construction phases
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects within a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
Desirable Experience
- Tertiary qualification (Diploma or higher) in Project Management, Construction, Architecture or a related discipline
- Architecture or design-related background
- Experience delivering public sector or government infrastructure projects
- Exposure to early contractor involvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery frameworks
- Experience managing projects ranging from small capital works through to large-scale infrastructure projects
- Proficiency using MS Project, Microsoft Word and Excel
