The Opportunity
An opportunity now exists for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take a key leadership role overseeing aviation projects based at Sydney Airport .
This is a unique position that combines both project delivery and client relationship management , working closely with major stakeholders including Sydney Airport and Qantas . You will be responsible not only for ensuring successful project outcomes, but also for strengthening and maintaining long-term client relationships within one of Australia’s most demanding operational environments.
This role would suit someone who thrives in fast-paced live environments and enjoys balancing technical delivery with strategic stakeholder engagement.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the successful delivery of aviation and infrastructure projects within Sydney Airport
- Managing key client relationships with stakeholders including Sydney Airport and Qantas
- Leading procurement, budgeting, cost control and commercial performance across projects
- Managing consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams
- Coordinating works within live operational airport environments with minimal disruption
- Driving programming, sequencing and risk management across multiple workstreams
- Ensuring compliance with airport operational, security and safety requirements
- Leading project reporting, stakeholder communication and client presentations
- Mentoring and supporting project delivery staff
- Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Engineering or similar
- Proven experience delivering projects within an Australian airport environment is essential
- Strong understanding of aviation stakeholder management and operational constraints
- 7–10+ years’ experience in Project Management within commercial, aviation or infrastructure sectors
- Excellent commercial acumen and experience managing project financials
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
- Calm, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage high-pressure operational environments
- Salary package up to $250,000 , depending on experience
