This role is essentially a Capital Works Project Manager position, with a strong focus on end-to-end project delivery, contract administration and construction supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver Council’s capital works program across the full project lifecycle, from initiation and design through to construction, handover and defects.
- Manage project budgets, programs, quality, risks and resources to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Develop project briefs, designs, specifications, tender and contract documentation.
- Prepare project budgets, estimates and delivery plans.
- Manage procurement processes, including EOI, quotations, tendering and contractor/consultant selection.
- Manage contractors and consultants, including contract administration, WHS, environmental compliance and performance.
- Act as Superintendent’s Representative during contract delivery.
- Coordinate site establishment, construction activities, existing services and contractor inductions.
- Lead Project Control Group meetings and provide regular project and financial reporting.
- Coordinate project completion, including as-constructed drawings, O&M manuals, asset register updates and handover to Council Operations.
- Ensure projects comply with Council policies, environmental requirements, standards and relevant legislation.
- Provide technical advice and maintain strong relationships with Council stakeholders, contractors, consultants and internal teams.
