Public Sector People are proud to be partnering with St George Community Housing (SGCH), one of Australia's largest and most respected community housing providers, to appoint a Senior Property Manager in their growing Victorian operations.
 
With a portfolio of over 100 affordable housing units in Box Hill, this standalone role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced property professional who is passionate about social and affordable housing, thrives on autonomy, and wants to make a tangible difference to people's lives and communities.
 
About the Role
 
Reporting to the Head of Service Outcomes and Improvement, the Senior Property Manager will lead the high-quality management of SGCH's Victorian portfolio. This includes:
 

  • Delivering end-to-end management of SGCH's Box Hill project - applications, allocations, assessments, leasing, support plans, rent reviews, arrears management, tenancy sustainment and compliance.
  • Oversee day-to-day property and tenancy operations including repairs, maintenance, and contractor engagement.
  • Representing SGCH at VCAT and Rental Dispute Resolution Victoria (RDRV).
  • Ensuring compliance with the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (Vic), fire safety requirements, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Driving community engagement initiatives and marketing activities to attract and retain residents.
  • Building strong relationships with contractors, owners' corporations, building managers, and local support services.
  • Acting as a key SGCH representative in Victoria's housing system, championing renter outcomes and service excellence.
 
About You
 
You are a motivated and customer-focused property professional who thrives in environments where you can work independently while building strong networks. You combine technical knowledge of tenancy and asset management with a collaborative and values-driven approach.
 
You will have:
 
  • Proven background in tenancy and/or property management, ideally within community housing, affordable housing, or real estate.
  • Tertiary qualifications in property, asset management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Current Victorian Estate Agent's Licence (or interstate equivalent via mutual recognition).
  • Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (Vic), with proven VCAT experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end tenancy and property management functions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and sustain strong partnerships.
  • Community engagement skills and the ability to develop support pathways for vulnerable renters.
  • Confident decision-making skills and the ability to represent SGCH as the lead contact in Victoria.
  • A current Victorian driver's licence and willingness to work occasional Saturdays.
