An established Victorian Tier 3 commercial construction company with over 25 years of experience is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join its growing team.
The business delivers a strong pipeline of projects across education, social housing, emergency services, community and local government facilities, with a reputation for quality delivery, strong subcontractor relationships and a collaborative culture.
This is an opportunity for a Site Manager who enjoys taking ownership of the site, working closely with the Project Manager and CA, and driving projects through to successful completion.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site teams.
- Manage site activities across structure, services, finishes and external works.
- Drive project programmes and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Identify and communicate delays, procurement requirements and potential programme risks.
- Review shop drawings, construction documentation and subcontractor works for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain high standards of quality assurance and workmanship.
- Coordinate RFIs, inspections, testing and project documentation.
- Implement and manage site HSEQ requirements, including SWMS, inductions, toolbox meetings and site inspections.
- Work closely with the PM and CA on variations, subcontractor scopes, cost issues and programme requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain a professional, organised and safe site environment.
- Support project handover, defects and completion processes.
- 4+ years' experience as a Site Manager within commercial construction.
- Proven experience delivering similar commercial projects.
- A trade background is preferred, although strong construction experience will be considered.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and stakeholders on active construction sites.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, quality and programme management.
- Good commercial awareness and the ability to identify and manage potential cost and programme issues.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to manage subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Experience with Hammertech and Microsoft 365 is advantageous.
- Candidates based in Melbourne's northern or western suburbs are preferred.
- Established Victorian Tier 3 builder with 25+ years of successful operation.
