Public Sector People are proud to be partnering with Georges River Council to recruit a technically skilled and community-focused Senior Traffic & Parking Assessment Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a civil or traffic engineer to influence urban design, development, and infrastructure outcomes across a diverse and growing local government area.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Coordinator Advisory & Specialist Assessment, you will:
- Provide expert technical input into development assessments and certification processes
- Assess traffic generation, pedestrian safety, access, parking, and design across a range of development types
- Ensure integration of development with public assets and compliance with relevant policies and standards
- Review transport and traffic modelling, and make recommendations on appropriate conditions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to align planning with infrastructure and asset strategies
- Contribute to strategic planning policies and participate in VPA negotiations
- Represent Council as an Expert Witness in Land & Environment Court matters when required
- Participate in continuous improvement and business process enhancements
- Tertiary qualifications in civil or traffic engineering or a related field
- Experience in traffic and transport planning within a development assessment context
- Understanding of Australian Standards, DCPs, EPIs and relevant legislation (e.g. Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Roads Act 1993)
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
