An opportunity is available for an experienced, hands-on Site Foreman to oversee a $3.5 million expansion to an operating large-format retail store.
Working with a commercial building contractor, you will take responsibility for day-to-day site operations, supported by a project team based in Melbourne. This role suits someone who is comfortable working independently, takes a practical approach to problem-solving and builds strong relationships with clients, store teams and subcontractors.
The project
The works include a precast and portal frame expansion, alongside lighting and roof upgrades to the existing store.
A technically challenging element involves removing an internal precast wall within the completed building, with these works undertaken on night shifts.
The store will remain operational throughout the project, making safety, coordination and communication essential.
The role
- Manage daily site activities, subcontractors, deliveries and sequencing.
- Maintain site safety, quality and progress against the programme.
- Coordinate construction activities around the needs of an operating retail store.
- Act as the main onsite point of contact for store management and the Melbourne project team.
- Take a hands-on approach, with labourer support provided as required.
- Oversee the planned night works, including the internal precast wall removal.
About you
- Proven experience as a Site Foreman or Site Supervisor on commercial construction projects.
- Experience delivering works within live retail environments.
- Relevant experience with precast concrete, structural steel and building alterations
